Monywa

Monywa is located on the eastern bank of the Chindwin river. The journey to Monywa takes 3 hours drive from Mandalay via Sagaing. Cross the Chindwin river by the bridge, get on an old willy jeep, head to Poewindaung mountain caves and observe the amazing stone curving and mural painting. The very colorful Thanbodday pagoda is also a major attraction of Monywa. Viewing scenic spots from one thousand Bo-tree in one area is really a memorable experience.
