Explorations of Caves and Ancient Buddhist Heritages ( 6 Days / 5 Nights )

Day 1: Yangon – Bago – Kyaikhtiyo (by car)

After breakfast, start your journey to Bago. Sightseeing includes: Kyaikpun Pagoda, four gigantic Buddha images; a thousand years old Shwemawdaw Pagoda with its spire taller than the Shwedagon Pagoda; and Shwethalyaung recling Buddha image.

“Kyaikhtiyo” the “Golden Rock”, a huge boulder, balanced on the edge of a cliff. To reach the pagoda from Kimpun base camp firstly take open trucks up to hermit point. Then must on foot to the Golden Rock. On arrival you can enjoy the beautiful sunset. Overnight at the hotel on the mountain.

Day 2: Kyaikhtiyo – Hpa-an (by car)

After breakfast, take by the open truck to the Kimpun base camp. Then proceed to Hpa-an. Drive to Hpa-an. On the way, visit Bayin Nyi cave; images and wall carvings can be seen everywhere inside the cave and then proceed to Kawgoon cave is a natural lime stone cave and measures 200 ft height and 300 ft length.

Arrive Hpa-an and check in Hotel. Sightseeing tour of Hpa-an tour highlight including Kyaikalatt which is small rock hill formed like a wine glass and Lombumni Garden with a thousand Buddha image at the base of Mt.Zawekabin. Enjoy sunset at Shweyinmyaw Pagoda (at the bank of Thanlwin River). Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Hpa-an Cave Tour (by car)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Kawkathaung Cave and Ruby cave (enshrine numerous Buddha Images). Afternoon visit Saddan Cave and around Hpa-an town. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Hpa-an – Kawhnat – Mawlamyine (by car)

After breakfast at hotel drive to Mawlamyine (takes about 1:30 hour). En route visit Kawhnat village where you can see well preserved ancient Myanmar architectures. Arrive Mawlamyine and check-in at hotel. Excursion to Queen Sein Done Monestry; was originally her residence. U Zina Pagoda, U Kanni Pagoda; the excellent view of the city of Mawlamyine can be seen. Enjoy the sunset at Kyaikthalan Pagoda is the highest structure in Mawlamyine and stands 150 feet tall on the ridge overlooking the town centre. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Malamyine – Thanbyuzayat – Mawlamyine (by car)

After breakfast at hotel drive to Thanbyuzayat, 64 km south of Mawlamyine. It was the western terminus of Burma-Siam Railway called the "Death Railway". About 1 1/2 km south of the clock tower, a locomotive and piece of rail tract commemorating the Burma-Siam Railway on display. A km west of the clock tower, on the south side of the road, lies the Allied War Cemetery. Continues with a visit to the world largest reclining Buddha image in Mudon and hand weaving workshops. Return to Manlamyine for overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: Malamyine – Yangon (by car)

Breakfast at hotel. Check out hotel. Depart Mawlamyine through Thaton Mottama road (takes about 8 hours). On the way, visit Zinkyaik Waterfall and Shwesaryan Pagoda( Thahton ). Lunch at local restaurant (kyaikhto). Drive back to Yangon. Arrive Yangon and transfer to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
